Like why what happens in Vegas never stays in Vegas. (Despite our wanting it to or being told to keep it there.)
Or how family of origin, culture, class, gender or trauma history influence what we think|do. When triggers might show up. And what we can do to respond with greater self compassion when something from our past trip us up.

Memoir-in-progress
This is a photo of my daughter and I when she was about six weeks old. My memoir is about the fantasy of healing from sexual abuse and the reality of learning something better. I'm looking at how sexual abuse "came back" for me during pregnancy, childbirth and the post-partum period, what happened, what I learned and how to find "better"...when you want to throw your baby across the room, not breastfeed her.
Novel project
I have a novel simmering. This is a photo of me as a baby and my mom. The novel has a mother/daughter relationship so this photo is a little bit of a memory placemarker for me.
